Navigating Life in 2022
Is anyone else having a hard time trying to carry on with life as normal? As a small business owner, there's always something that needs doing. But with current events, I’m finding it way more difficult to get things done.
What is happening right now is terrifying. All of us, no matter our race, gender identity, sexual orientation, heritage, or sex deserve equal rights and the chance to pursue our passions and live a fulfilling life- PERIOD. END OF STORY.
So what can we do about it?
Run for Office
We need more young, LGBTQIA and BIPOC individuals and women in power. A government can't be truly representative unless its members reflect the demographics of our country as a whole.
If you are thinking about throwing your hat in the ring for school board, town council, or even the House of Representatives, here are some resources that I recommend.

Change the Narrative
Rather than finger pointing and blame, we can focus on elevating the stories of the people and organizations working to create a more just, equitable, and inclusive tomorrow. My way of doing this is through my weekly IG Live series, Profits for Purpose. I interview badass entrepreneurs and businesses doing their part to make positive change. Consider how your brand can leverage storytelling.

Change the Way You do Business
It's easy to get overwhelmed by everything that needs changing. But I also know that one way I can make an impact is by leveraging my business to make change. By paying people well and treating them right, I'm helping my team reach their true potential and live a fulfilled life. When more businesses do this and also use their platforms to speak truth to power, it demonstrates to the powers that be and your consumers that you are a values-driven organization that's standing on the right side of history.
Red Lab Marketing is committed to building a more just, equitable, and sustainable tomorrow. As part of that, I'm launching a my “Profits for Purpose Networking Group” specifically for progressive entrepreneurs. It will consist of networking, learning opportunities, and workshops around the issues of social justice, sustainability, and other important issues. We kick off in April 2022. If you are interested in joining, email me. It's going to take all of us working together to make change, and this networking group is one way of doing that.
